Wales is surprisingly accessible from England - just over 4 hours from London, 3 hours from the Midlands, 2 and a bit hours from Manchester and just over three hours from Cardiff if you've come over the Severn bridge

The easiest way into Wales is to come off one of the motorways -M6 from London and the Midlands, M5 or M4 from the South & South-West of England and the M6 or M56 from the North. There aren't many main routes west then and most people come towards Barmouth heading towards Dolgellau using either the A470 from the South or North, the A458 from Shrewsbury or the A498 from Chester and the North West. Just west of Dolgellau you take the A496 at the roundabout and drive along the estuary. If its fine you will be rewarded with a beautiful drive along the Mawddach Estuary to Barmouth and look out for Barmouth Bridge on the horizon at the end of the mouth of the estuary.

Once you get to Barmouth continue through the town and head northwards on the A496 towards Harlech. Some two miles north of the town you pass out of the street lighting and the 40mph zone. Our entrance is about 300 yards further on your right. There is a sign on the roadside and you take the lane all the way to the top - 150 yards or so. Have a pleasant journey and we will put the kettle on when you arrive.
